1. You can try setting up the laptop hard drive on the other IDE cable that you have (hopefully you have one). You may have to disconnect a storage drive to do this, but it is only temporary. If you have a CD/DVD drive there you can always make that the slave with no harm done.

2. Another thing you can do is simply leave them connected as master and slave and boot into your 3.5&quot; as a slave drive. You probably have to change the BIOS to boot to hard drive 1 (as opposed to 0, which is master).</description>

		<description>This guide is very usefull, except i have one problem. I connect my 1.8 hard drive with an adapter, except i cant set it as slave, and sets as master. so the 3.5 already in there goes to slave. when i want it the other way around. any idea on how to fix this?</description>
